A prominent cause of car accidents in many of these counties are drunk drivers. Driving impaired can put you and those around you at a much higher risk of getting into a car accident. So, avoiding driving while impaired can do a lot of good in avoiding many accidents on the road.

Of course, not every accident has to do with driving under the influence, so being aware of your surroundings, driving defensively, following road laws, and overall being a smart driver is very important for staying safe on the road. If you trust your own driving skills and are aware of others around you, you can stay safer and try to prevent accidents that might be cause by less attentive drivers.

If you feel like your county has a lot of bad drivers, then it likely made the list. Keep scrolling to see if your area is considered dangerous and what makes it dangerous based on the number of fatalities and other details.
