Stock Up On Locally Grown Produce at this Lubbock Market
One of my favorite parts of summer is all of the beautiful plants growing, including the plentiful gardens all around town.
I’ve been growing my own salsa garden for a few years now, and it is always so satisfying to grow your own food and share it with the people around you. While I just grow enough for friends and family, there are some folks around town that grow lots of produce and want to share them with the community.
Roots Urban Growers Market is a monthly event held at the Roots Booker T. Washington Community Garden. According to their official Facebook event page, they have music, painting, and produce from local growers. You can even tour the garden and harvest any produce you’d like to take home.
Roots Booker T. Washington Community Garden is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the Lubbock community, and providing resources to help live happier, healthier lives.
This month’s market takes place on Friday, June 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This is a monthly event happening at the end of each month with the next two dates being Friday, July 21, and Friday, August 18.
