Fall is approaching in West Texas, and for those of us living in and around Lubbock, that means it’s almost time to enjoy the At’l Do Farms Corn Maize.

This year, the farm will be open for their fall season from September 16th to November 4th. They will have their classic corn maze, pumpkin patch, campfires, and more available for their guests to enjoy.

The corn maize is always a hot topic because the design changes every year. Last year’s theme was Prairie Dog Pete, keeping it local to Lubbock and sharing a bit of the Hub City’s history with those that aren’t familiar.

This year is taking things from a broader view, looking at the state of Texas as a whole, this year’s maze gives you the chance to travel around the Lone Star State and even visit you and your friend’s hometowns all in one trip.

If you are planning to go to the maze this year, I have some tips to help you have the best possible time.

Get Lost

While the ultimate goal of most mazes is to get in and out as efficiently as possible, this maze is best to get lost in. Explore every corner, find your hometown on the map, and have fun with your friends and family.

Play Along

Every year, there are numbered posts set around the maze to help you find your way. At the start, there are a variety of trivia cards available with different topics. If you answer each question correctly, it will help you find your way.

After Dark

If you want a bit of a spooky vibe, bring a flashlight and start the maze as the sun sets. Jump-scare your friends (don’t scare any strangers) from around corners, trust your instincts, and use that flashlight to make your way through.
