Lubbock Buildings That Seem To Be Cursed – 3524 Ave Q

Have you ever noticed some buildings that just don't seem to have a business that likes to stick around?

As a constantly growing and ever-changing city, Lubbock is always seeing new businesses call the Hub City home. While many find a building to call home and see great success with that choice, others are not so fortunate.

Whether you call it capitalism or misfortune, it's a building that just seems to be cursed. One good example I can think of is this one at 3524 Avenue Q.

2007 - RC Wheels

Previously home to a variety of remote control vehicles, now home to a church. This Lubbock building has seen at least five different businesses come through its doors in the past ten years.

As documented on Google Maps Street View, the building is first seen at RC Wheels in 2007. The next business we see is Lubbock Furniture & Hot Tub Outlet in 2013.

2013 - Lubbock Furniture & Hot Tub Outlet

Just three years later, we see another update on Street View, and now it is a similar business, but slightly different Mattress & Futon Direct in 2016.

2016 - Mattress & Futon Direct

The next change only took a year and this one was a bit more drastic. From a furniture store to a church, this building took a drastic turn.

2017

In 2017 there is no specific signage on the outside of the building, but a new panel seen through the front window with 'CHURCH' printed across it.

2018 - Sin City Ministries

In 2018 we see that the church officially has a sign on the building, labeling it as Sin City Ministries.

2019 - Ebenezer

A year later, in 2019, the Sin City Ministries sign is gone, and the building now has a sign that reads 'Ebenzer' with the same 'CHURCH' text seen through the window.

2022- Revival

The final update is from 2022 where the building is seen as Revival City Harvest Church. This church is currently open and active at this location with regular Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday services.

I wonder, I ponder, will Revival break this building's curse? Only time will tell. I'll keep my fingers crossed for them!
