Just over two hours away from Lubbock, the Abilene Zoo makes for a great day trip for the whole family! If you are looking for a unique camping experience, the Monahans Sandhills might be for you. They are only two and a half hours away and would make for a great spring break trip. Carlsbad, NM is only two and a half hours away from Lubbock and is home to the amazing Carlsbad Caverns. Although the bats won't be out this time of year, you can still spend the day exploring the caverns.
