What Does Bobby Hill Have In Common With Texas Tech University?

Bobby Hill's goal was to be a prop comic. I guess we'll find out soon if he's getting any closer to that goal when the King Of The Hill reboot launches. The new show will feature a time jump to a time when Bobby is a grown-up.  Apparently, all the major voice actors are coming back to play their characters, with the exception of the late Brittany Murphy and Tom Petty (Luanne and Lucky).

Bobby ended up being an unconventional hero in a number of episodes, but the one I'm bringing up is Bobby winning the meat examination championship for Heimlich County Junior College.  You see, a lot of folks that don't live near farms think the idea of "meat judging" is just hilarious, and really don't recognize how important it really can be.

From Bobby Hill, we turn the page to The Texas Tech Meat Judging Team who dominated the competition at about the same time. King Of The Hill ran from 1997 to 2010 and guess who was the hoss of meat judging at that time?

Texas Tech won national meat judging championships in 1989, 1991, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017,2019,2020.  You cannot convince me that somehow the two are not related/and or the King Of The Hill team didn't catch win of the winning Red Raider Team.

I have said it time and time again, to be the best at anything, whether it's football, meat judging, or anything else, is something to truly be proud of. I'm proud that are Red Raiders put together a championship team that took this so seriously, and I'll go to my grave thinking they inspired the writers on King Of The Hill.
