Texas Department of Public Safety recently developed a new database for violent offenders. You will now be able to find more information on a violent offender's past offenses, like whether or not they have been convicted of sexual assault or aggravated assault on a family member more than one times. The new Violent Offender Database also includes information on those charged with stalking and a manner of other violent past behaviors.

According to the new database, assault, sexual assault, aggravated assault, aggravated sexual assault, continuous violence against the family, stalking, or any other combination of the aforementioned offenses, committed by someone more than once, will now be visible in their file.

This could prove to be pretty helpful for anyone curious about someone's mysterious past. Several of my friends have used offender registries to learn more about their new partners. This is just another way to find out who someone is before you get wrapped up in something you shouldn't.

To use the new Violent Offender Database, click here. You can also learn more about it on the Texas DPS website here.

Do you think it's a good idea that this new database was established? Have you had a chance to use it yet? I'd like to hear your opinion. Please feel free to comment below this article wherever you come across it, or email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com.
