A recent Lubbock Reddit thread asked the question: What Lubbock Business Will You Never Return To? Lubbock folks had a wide variety of answers, mostly based on personal experience. I answered truthfully: any restaurant with an epically bad health report.

I know people make mistakes and learn from them, but nothing gives me the ick quite as profoundly as an eatery getting spanked on their inspection, which is why I'm addicted to Food For Thought.

Luckily, there are some great Top Performers this week that we get to shine a positive light on.

Raising Cane’s (5702 4th)

Lubbock is home to 4 locations of Raising Cane's, and the location on 4th Street just passed inspection with flying colors. And with hours from 9 a.m. to 1 or 2 a.m., that means they are constantly, vigilantly in compliance.

Buns Over Texas (3402 73rd)

This makes me so happy, as I am a huge fan of hearing, "Renee! Your Buns Are Up!" Delicious burgers, chicken fried steaks and more- with all the crisp veggie toppings you could possibly desire. Buns Over Texas is a Lubbock institution and they are sparklingly clean.

Cook's Garage (Food Truck)

Feel secure with your eats even while you enjoy a show under the West Texas stars.

Lubbock Meals on Wheels (2304 34th)

Lubbock Meals On Wheels provides meals to folks who are home-bound and who might otherwise go hungry, especially senior Lubbockites. So, in addition to keeping vulnerable people fed, they are also maintaining an excellent standard of cleanliness. That's wonderful.

LMOW is a, "private, non-profit organization committed to helping people remain home, well fed, and independent as long as possible."  If you'd like to volunteer or donate, you can get more information by clicking here.

Congrats to all of this week's top performers!
