A house fire in east Lubbock has left the owner with minor injuries.

Around 11:00 this morning a house caught fire in the 3300 block of east 17th street.  Firefighters safely extinguished the fire and luckily were able to save the majority of the house. The fire was not nearly as hard to extinguish as the large apartment fire Monday, however high temperatures still took their toll on firefighters working the house fire.

The man who lived in the home was not injured by the fire, however he did cut himself while trying to ventilate the home. His injury was not serious and he is not hospitalized. Firefighters still aren’t sure what caused the blaze.
