Homeless Man’s Body Found in North Texas Retention Pond
DENTON, Texas (AP) — Divers have located the body of a homeless man in a North Texas retention pond after he allegedly was swept away from a drainage area during heavy rain.
Authorities believe the victim, whose body was recovered early Monday, had been living in a drainage tunnel in Denton.
Denton Fire Department spokesman Kenneth Hedges says witnesses reported the man was swept into the retention pond Sunday night by fast-moving water. The name of the man wasn't immediately released.
Retention ponds are used to store excess rainwater.
