After 60 years in business, the end of road for one Lubbock business is getting closer.

For many in Lubbock, the Christmas season includes a trip to Holland Gardens, located at 3739 50th Street. It had been previously announced that Holland Gardens would be closing at the start of 2024, but it has remained open throughout the year leading some to wonder if the store was going to close at all.

In a press release issued this morning, we now know when Holland Gardens will officially close, and the good news for Christmas shoppers is this. You get one last Christmas with Holland Gardens.

According to the press release, because Holland Gardens had so much inventory and due to customers asking them to stick around through Christmas this year, Holland Gardens is set to operate through December 31 of this year. Earlier in the year Holland Gardens was able to secure a 1 year extension on their lease.

The final Christmas Open House will be this weekend November 2nd and 3rd at Holland Gardens and then through the Holiday season, shoppers will be able to purchase everything, really everything including displays and fixtures. The press release also stated that with few exceptions, everything in the store is 50-75% off. So get in early to do your Christmas decorating shopping this year.

Holland Gardens has been a Lubbock institution since 1965 and we wish the best to Wayne and Ann Holland as they wind down a successful run in Lubbock and look forward to retirement. Personally, I can say that my wife and I have enjoyed going into Holland Gardens during the Christmas season, not only to get new Christmas items for the house (we love Christmas) but to also get into the Christmas spirit.

Holland Gardens will remain open through December 31st at 3739 50th Street in Lubbock.

The Best Christmas and Holiday Items You Can Find At Buc-ee's Right Now
