During their meeting today, the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District Board of Directors unanimously voted to adopt the 2011 tax rate of $0.00776 per $100 in property value for operation and maintenance. This makes the second year in a row the tax rate has been lowered. Under the new rate, a person with $100,000 in property value pays $7.76 to the Water District. Although rates have been lowered, some residents may see a slight rise in what they owe due to an increase in their property value.
