Gerrit Cole, Will Harris and Other Astros Players File for Free Agency
Major League Baseball's offseason is now underway with many older players filing for free agency.
The Astros could potentially lose eight players who spent time on the 25-man roster in 2019. Pitchers Gerrit Cole (pictured) and Will Harris headline the eight players who filed for free agency after the conclusion of the World Series.
Also filing for free agency, catchers Robinson Chirinos and Martin Maldonado, and pitchers Hector Rondon, Wade Miley, Joe Smith, and Collin McHugh.
Cole finished the 2019 season with a 20-5 record and a 2.50 ERA. He could end up commanding one of the most lucrative free agent contracts, for a pitcher, in MLB history.
