The National Park Service has a handful of free days for the public to access national parklands without paying a fee for admission.

Established on August 25th, 1916, the National Park Service now honors this anniversary by adding August 25th to the list of free admission days to be observed annually.

Texas has a few National Parks, but the closest is Lake Meredith National Recreation Area.

Located along the Canadian River, approximately 15 miles west of Borger, TX and 40 miles northeast of Amarillo, TX, Lake Meredith is a great place for fishing, hunting and camping.
