There was a major accident on Highway 84 two miles south of Slaton on Friday, December 27th at around 10:30 a.m.

At the time of this report, 10 people have been listed as injured, with two of the injuries being reported as critical. One person was trapped in an SUV, and a Texas DPS trooper was injured and taken to a local hospital.

There were three semi-trucks involved in the accident.

As of 1 p.m. on the day of the accident, westbound US 84 was reopened at CR 3600. However, eastbound US 84 will remain closed through at least 4 p.m.
