
Three People Dead, Two More Injured In A Shooting In Slaton
The Lubbock County Sheriff's Department was called upon last night by the Slaton Police Department to assist to a report to a shooting in Slaton Sunday night.
Three Dead, Two Injured in Slaton
According to a press release from the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department, the Slaton Police received a call about multiple gunshot victims. The call come in at around 10:50 p.m. Lubbock County Deputies assisted in the call when they responded to the 300 block of East Floyd Street. Three people were located first according to the press release, each with fatal gunshot wounds. Two other victims were located with gunshot wounds who were in critical condition.
The press release stated that the two individuals who were in critical condition were taken to a local hospital and have been since stabilized.
No On-Going Threat To The Public
According to the press release, police believe the shooter was one of the people who was found dead at the scene.
At this time, there is no on-going threat to the public. The initial investigation indicated one of
the deceased parties was the shooter. This investigation has been turned over to the Lubbock
Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit and is ongoing. We are not releasing the names of any person
involved until their families are notified.
