Stop what you're doing! Vista Bank has just sold seven West Texas locations to First United Bank! Whew, I'm glad you stuck with me through that.

Vista Bank Locations

According to a news report from Banker's Digest, Vista Bank announced on December 12 that they have agreed to sell seven of their rural West Texas locations to First United Bank.

These locations include the following:

  • Abernathy
  • Hale Center
  • Haskell
  • Idalou
  • Petersburg
  • Plainview
  • Ralls

The agreement is expected to close transaction between the two banks by April, 2025. Good news! Vista Bank will indeed remain in Lubbock. It's even going to continue it's expansion and retail presence in the Hub City.

Vista Bank... Did You Know?

Did you know that Vista Bank was established in 1912? Not only that, but it took 108 years to pass $1 billion in assets, but passed $2.4 billion within the past three years alone!

The bank currently spans Texas with 18 building locations and two ATM-only spots. Vista even has a banking center in Palm Beach, Florida!

With 16 centers found in 13 different West Texas communities, Vista Bank employs over 250 associates equipped with their gold standard in client assistance.

"We couldn't feel better about partnering with them to continue serving these communities, knowing that our team members and valued clients will remain in the best of hands," Vista Bank CEO, John D. Steinmetz, stated.

First United Additions

First United Bank will add these seven new locations to their more-than-80 established centers across Texas and Oklahoma.

As the seventh largest bank in Oklahoma, First United is arguably older than Vista, having opened their doors in Oklahoma all the way back in 1900.

We'll see how this shakes up for rural West Texans as the transactions proceed and First United gains a couple more locations from Vista.
