FDA Warns Texans Against Eating This Brand’s Raw Cheese Due To E. Coli Outbreak
If you are a fan of cheese, you need to keep reading because you really don't want to be exposed to this new outbreak that the FDA is now warning about.
According to WFAA, at least seven people across the nation, including here in Texas have become infected with E. coli and according to the Food and Drug Administration, they all ate the same product.
RAW FARM-brand Raw Cheddar Cheese Linked To Outbreak
The FDA and CDC has been investigating the E. coli outbreak and all those involved have reportedly said they ate RAW FARM-brand raw cheddar cheese.
The FDA has recommended that RAW FARM voluntarily remove their raw cheese products from the market, but so far the company has refused to do so. The FDA has said that so far, no RAW FARM brand cheddar cheese products have tested positive for E. coli. Investigations are on-going though. The owner of RAW FARM defended the company according to WFAA.
“They have found no pathogens in any of our products,” McAfee said in an interview. He disputed the FDA’s findings that the cases were genetically linked and said that the announcement of the outbreak was premature.
This isn't the first time in recent years that Raw Farm pushed back on a recommendation to recall their products. Back in 2024, the company's raw cheddar cheese was also linked to an E. coli outbreak. While the company initially agreed to recall products, it later withdrew that recall against the CDC's advice.
The current outbreak has not lead to any deaths but has resulted in two being in the hospital.
