Fatal Crash Near Friona Leaves One Dead

A fatal two vehicle crash occurred Wednesday morning on US 60 near Friona.

TxDOT reports the crash occurred around 6 a.m., south of Friona.

A tractor-trailer was traveling east on US 60, when a car failed to yield to the trailer, causing the crash.

The driver of the car, 23 year-old Flavio Garcia, was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the trailer, 47 year-old Jimmie Looney Jr., was given medical attention on scene, and was released.
