Extreme Heat Continues Across Lubbock Today

After last night’s blowing dust across the South Plains and Lubbock, Red Flag Warnings are in effect today for most of the KFYO listening area.

Red Flag Warnings will last until 9 tonight for most of the South Plains, all of the Texas Panhandle and Eastern New Mexico.  The South Plains counties not included in the Red Flag Warning are Lubbock, Lynn, Hockley, Terry, Yoakum and Cochran.

Today’s expected high in Lubbock is 104, one degree short of the record for this day set in 1931.
