Exhibition Honoring Rick Husband and Willie McCool Scheduled at Silent Wings Museum on Anniversary of Columbia Space Shuttle Disaster

A special exhibition at a Lubbock museum will honor two of the Hub City’s hometown heroes.

The special exhibition entitled “Columbia: Honoring West Texas Heroes Rick Husband and Willie McCool” will be held at the Silent Wings Museum, with assistance from the Texas Tech Southwest Collection. .

The exhibition is sponsored by the Philip C. Price Lubbock Chapter of the Texas Aviation Heritage Foundation, Inc.

Both Colonel Rick Husband and Commander Willie McCool died in the Columbia space shuttle disaster on February 1^st, 2003.

A reception with free admission will be held from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, February 1^st, in recognition of the 10^th anniversary of the Columbia disaster.

The exhibit will be on display at the Silent Wings Museum, located off Interstate 27, Exit 9, from February 1^st through March 17^th, 2013.
