Former Dallas Cowboy’s Second Lawsuit Following Fatal Crash
25-year-old Kelvin Joseph, former cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys from 2021 to 2023, was recently involved in a vehicle accident that left one motorcycle driver dead after he struck them with his car.
This is his second lawsuit that is running concurrently with a previous drive-by shooting incident.
Kelvin Joseph's Multiple Charges Following Accident
Joseph is facing two charges after he drove his BMW while drunk into a 27-year-old mother on her motorcycle, killing her.
The motorcycle driver, Cody Morris of Plano, TX, was reportedly driving her bike along the North Central Expressway around five in the morning when the accident occurred. Responding officers noted Joseph was visibly intoxicated.
Morris left behind a 7-year-old daughter, and her family is now suing the former Cowboy for causing the death of the girl's mother.
Joseph's Criminal Charges
Joseph was charged with driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor, and collision involving personal injury or death, a second-degree felony in Texas.
Morris' family is seeking over $10 million in damages and emotional turmoil of the young girl having to grow up without a mother.
Kelvin Joseph's Second Lawsuit
This drunk driving incident occurred while Joseph is already involved in a separate lawsuit for his alleged involvement in a drive-by shooting which is also pending more than $10 million in penalties.
The drive-by shooting that left one person dead did not see Joseph suspended from the NFL at the time in 2022, since police determined he was not a shooter. Despite this, his involvement in the lawsuit remains due to the fact that he was still a passenger in the vehicle when the incident occurred.
