Craig James Withdraws Petition Regarding Mike Leach Books

Former sports commentator and now U.S. Senate candidate Craig James has backed off his effort to get source information from the publishers of books by Mike Leach and another author who has written about Leach’s being fired as Texas Tech’s head football coach.

Craig sought depositions from the two publishers of Leach’s book “Swing Your Sword” and Michael Lee Lanning’s book “Double T--Double Cross.” The petition has now been withdrawn in Collin County District Court where it was filed.

Leach’s Lubbock-based attorney Ted Liggett  reacted yesterday, saying, quote: “We’ve said all along that it was groundless, that everything written in the books were true, and, on top of that, Craig James filed it in the wrong court.”
