Lubbock’s Pumpkin Trail Will Be Here Soon, and Volunteers Are Needed
It's another sign that fall is near on the South Plains. The 17th Annual Pumpkin Trail is coming up pretty soon and volunteers are needed to help put the big event on. Volunteering at the Pumpkin Trail is a great opportunity for youth groups and organizations to help out in the community at a fun event.
17th Annual Pumpkin Trail in Lubbock
This year's Pumpkin Trail will take place October 16-19 at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum. The event is put on by the City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department and they are currently looking for sponsors and display hosts for the event.
If you've never been to the Pumpkin Trail, you are missing out. Thousands of pumpkins, carved by businesses and citizens that are donated to the event line the Arboretum trails and are set up as displays.
They are also looking for volunteers to help put on the Pumpkin Trail. According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, student organizations, youth groups, classes, and clubs are encouraged to reach out to the City of Lubbock to volunteer. Those interested in volunteer should contact Ruth Perkins at ruthperkins@mylubbock.us or 806-775-2670.
Lubbock Citizens Love the Pumpkin Trail
According to the press release, over 20,000 people attend the Pumpkin Trail each year. As we get closer to October 16, citizens will be asked to donate carved pumpkins to the trail.
