The City of Lubbock is continuing to get citizens vaccinated against the novel coronavirus. Thousands have already had their first COVID-19 shot and are waiting for their second one. Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine requires 28 days between shots.

The second doses for the COVID-19 vaccine will take place next week on Tuesday, January 26th and Wednesday, January 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Thursday, January 28th from 2-8 p.m. Those needing to get their second shot need to make appointments over the phone by calling the City of Lubbock Health Department at 806-775-2933.

According to the City of Lubbock's Health Department, in order for the COVID-19 vaccine to be effective, you will need a second shot. The City of Lubbock also reminded citizens that they will need to bring their vaccination card:

Individuals arriving for their second dose are asked to bring their vaccine card with them to the clinic. Those who forget their cards will have to stand in an additional line for staff to look up their information in the computer system. The second dose clinics will also be located at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center; however, there will be a separate check-in table with different paperwork to complete. Individuals will still be required to wait 15 minutes for observation following their second vaccination.
