CASA of the South Plains is in need of volunteers this Summer as vacations and former volunteers have moved. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. Volunteers help navigate the child welfare system and are a voice for the children who are victims of abuse and neglect.

If you are interested in becoming a CASA volunteer, they will be holding an information meeting this week according to a press release.

Prospective volunteers are urged to attend the upcoming CASA 101 Informational Session hosted by CASA of the South Plains on Thursday, June 6th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the First United Bank Operations Center at 5808 4th Street. This is a great, no-obligation introduction to CASA and its mission. CASA staff and current Advocates will be on hand to discuss the increasing need for volunteers, what it means to be a CASA, and how community members can help make a difference in the lives of children in foster care.

You can get more information about becoming a CASA volunteer and register at casaofthesouthplains.org.
