A Man Remains in the Hospital After a Two-Vehicle Accident in South Lubbock
Two people were taken to a local hospital Monday (July 30) after a crash in South Lubbock. Police say the crash occurred at about 4:40 p.m. at 130th Street and Upland Avenue.
A pickup truck and car were reportedly involved in the crash. Through an initial investigation, 23-year old Tyler Jones was traveling northbound in the car on Upland Avenue and 46-year-old Jon Harrison was driving the pickup truck eastbound on 130th Street when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, Harrison was released from University Medical Center after being treated for his injuries. Jones remains at UMC with serious injuries as of Tuesday morning (July 31st).
Authorities shut down 130th Street and Upland Avenue for a number of hours to investigate and clear the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
