Candidates running in the Special Election for Texas Senate District 28 have filed campaign finance reports.

The reports disclose where candidates are receiving money from and are filed with the Texas Ethics Commission. The most recent report filed was the “30-day Before Election” report.

According to the commission, State Representative Charles Perry has received the most campaign funding at 287,106 with Jodey Arrington trailing closely with $230,786. Notable donors to Arrington’s campaign include former President George W. Bush who donated $1,000 in late July. The Texans for Lawsuit Reform donated $75,000 to Perry’s campaign.

Greg Wortham has announced $10,300 in funding for his campaign, Kerry McKennon $855 and E.M. Garza filed a report with no contributions listed. Delwin Jones has announced that he will be self-funding his campaign with a $70,000 loan to himself.

The Special Election for Senate District 28 is slated to take place on Tuesday, September 9th, 2014.
