Friday on The Chad Hasty Show, District 83 Representative Dustin Burrows joined the program to talk about the widespread power disaster in Texas in the wake of this week's historic winter storm, and to share his thoughts on plans for Lubbock to join the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).

"It's clear as day that we have problems. Texas is about to have hearings, we deserve answers, we deserve to come up with solutions to find out what we need to make sure this does not happen again," Burrows said.

Burrows and Hasty also discussed reports that during the storm, the ERCOT electrical grid was just moments away from a total collapse. Burrows said that if that had occurred

We would not be able to get the grid back on line, from what we're hearing, for months to maybe a year. It would have been devastating.
