BREAKING: Lubbock Police Release Names of Victims in Mackenzie Park Shooting
A man, woman, and a dog were shot during an attack at Mackenzie Park on Tuesday morning. All three victims died from the altercation.
Details on the Attack
Just after 8am on Tuesday morning, Lubbock Police Department dispatched an officer to the 300 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive at Mackenzie Park in response to a 911 call reporting shots fired.
In a statement from LPD, a man was found deceased at the scene, while a woman died later at UMC from her injuries. Officers also found a dog who had died at the scene as well.
The deceased man was later identified as 55-year-old Angel Aleman who was walking his dog at the time of the attack. The dog was identified as the one found deceased on scene.
The woman who was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries and later died at the hospital was identified as Lydia Hernandez, 47.
Police have yet to find the gunman, as no arrests have been made. As the investigation persists, the Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Unit and LPD Forensic Unit urge anyone with information to reach out and call the Lubbock Crime Line.
