The 100 Black Men of West Texas was started in Lubbock to improve the quality of life for all residents and empower African-Americans.

They have five important pillars they stand on, mentoring, education, health & wellness, economic empowerment and leader development.

This 501 (c) (3) non-profit is so important to Lubbock and the community is coming together for a big fundraiser for them.

It is called Black is Beautiful and 100% of the proceeds will go back to this organization. According to the Black Is Beautiful Facebook page this is happening at breweries all across the world to help raise awareness for "the injustices people of color face daily and raise funds in support of great organizations like 100 Black Men."

This is happening at 1,221 breweries across the globe, 22 countries, and 50 states. Lubbock will be one of those places.

Last year Two Docs Brewing Co stepped up to raise money by selling my black is beautiful beer and it was a successful fundraiser. Over the last couple of years, they have been able to donate more than $4,200 for 100BMWT and this year they wanted to go bigger by adding this event along with it.

Reggie Dial with 100 Black Men of West Texas says "as the 100 Black Men of West Texas they are so impressed with Two Docs because they are being a bridge-builder here in Lubbock." He continues to say," it shows their tenacity and open-hearted to change and bring the community together.

The event will showcase all the minority-owned businesses and groups. If you would like your business to be a part of this event you can sign up on their website, it is first come first serve. There are about 25 spots available.

According to Facebook, "Two Docs Brewing Co. stands in solidarity with breweries across the globe and is proud to partner with the annual Black is Beautiful campaign. We hope to #BeTheChange and increase local efforts in raising awareness for equality in our community."

This event is happening on Saturday, June 25th, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Two Docs Brewing Co. located in downtown Lubbock at 502 Texas Ave., Lubbock, TX. The my black is beautiful beer will launch that day and they hope to sell out. It will only be available in the taproom.

Dial says "everyone is welcome at this event and it is about Lubbock coming together. I mean what is better than having a cold beer with a friend. That's what we want to promote is unity for the Lubbock community. "
