Those heading to Texas' largest National Park today should know that a warning has been issued and it's one that could impact the health of some visitors.

Big Bend Tourists May Be Effected by Poor Air Quality

According to Newsweek, tourists at Big Bend National Park have been warned about unhealthy air quality levels. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency also gave warning on Tuesday about the air quality.

This isn't the first time Texans have been warned about poor air quality. In April, millions of Texans were warned about poor air quality and it was even suggested that some skip drive-thru's to prevent idling.

Who In Texas Should be Worried About Poor Air Quality?

The EPA's AirNow site shows that the area of southern Texas and northern Mexico is facing high pollution levels. You can also see from this Google Map that the air over Big Bend isn't very good right now.

Poor air quality may impact vulnerable populations like children and older adults with respiratory issues.

The air quality is likely to shift throughout the day and week.
