On Saturday, Lubbock police responded to a crash involving an SUV and a bicycle.

KAMC News reports that the crash occurred at around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Erskine Street and North Loop 289.

It’s reported that the SUV was traveling east on Erskine when it struck a bicyclist that was going southbound on a crosswalk.

The 55-year-old male bicyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to UMC for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

Police are saying that the bicyclist had a red light and failed to yield the right of way.
