Armed Carjacker in Lubbock Hospitalized After Apprehension by K9 Unit

Three men were arrested Monday after trying to steal a standard vehicle out of a Covenant Hospital parking lot. 20-year-old George Henderson, 18-year-old Marcus Denson and 22-year-old Shawn West allegedly held the driver at gun point and attempted to steal his vehicle. The carjackers apparently didn’t know how to drive a standard shift transmission, so they fled.

The 37-year-old victim was able to call the police. Henderson and Denson were arrested in the direct area in the 2100 block of Avenue T. West fled and was found hiding in a dog house by police dogs. He was bitten several times and taken to U.M.C. for treatment of dog bites on his buttocks and back. Authorities recovered several stolen items from the truck including two hand guns.
