It seems like almost weekly now there is a small business closing their doors for good in Lubbock. And many of the small businesses that have been closing recently have been in business for a good amount of time.

Back in November, Simply Decadent Bakery took to Facebook to announce that after a tough year, and "many discussions, tears, self-battles, and prayers" that they had decided to close the doors on their bakery.

After 12 years being open in Lubbock and baking cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and so many other delicious items, the owner of Simply Decadent Bakery had arrived at a painful decision. And this week is the final week for Simply Decadent.

According to a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 24th will be the final day that the doors are open at 5905 82nd Street for Simply Decadent. The final day for any preorders will be on Thursday, December 19 when they are open from 10am to 6pm.

During the last couple of days they are open they will not be putting out as many items as they attempt to limit production according to the social media post.

So is this the end of Simply Decadent Bakery? We surely hope not, and it seems like they are leaving the door open for a new location in the future, but those are steps they are still trying to figure out. For many businesses hoping to bounce back, they need prices to come down, rent to stabilize, and for the economy to get working again.

For now, December 24 will be the last day of Simply Decadent Bakery after 12 strong years in Lubbock. We wish them the best.
