American Airlines announced increased flexibility for travelers experiencing weather delays in Las Vegas and Dallas this week.

According to a press release from the company:

Under current travel waivers, customers ticketed on American Airlines, American Eagle, US Airways or US Airways Express flights on Dec. 31 to, from, or through McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas (LAS) may change flights without penalty, have the ticket-reissue charge waived for one ticket change, and begin travel as early as Dec. 30 or as late as Jan. 1.

 

In addition, customers ticketed on American Airlines, American Eagle, US Airways or US Airways Express flights on Jan. 1 to, from, or through Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) may change flights without penalty, have the ticket-reissue charge waived for one ticket change, and begin travel as early as Dec. 31 or as late as Jan. 2.

Customers can contact American Airlines Reservations at 1-800-433-7300.

Flights out of the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport were cancelled for the evening of Tuesday, December 30, to allow crews to de-ice a runway. As of 4 p.m. December 31, one runway is de-iced and travel is permitted at the discretion of individual airlines. Travelers should contact their airline before heading to the airport.
