They say you have better chances of getting struck by lightning, but an albino raccoon was recently seen rummaging through a dumpster at College Station.

In a recent X post from Rusty Surette, you can see the little trash panda doing what he does best as he poses for the 'gotcha' camera.

What Are the Odds?

You have, approximately, a 1 in 750,000 chance of encountering this beauty in the wild: a smaller chance than getting struck by lighting.

Albinism occurs in babies when each parent passes the mutated genes that affect the body's melanin production, changing skin and hair pigmentation.

The problem that albino animals face in the wild is that they stick out like a sore thumb, increasing their chances of becoming dinner for something bigger and bad...er.

Previous Sightings
