$35,000 in funding is coming to West Texas from the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) to charities that assist low-income families.

Two charities are receiving funding in West Texas: Lubbock’s branch of My Father’s House received $15,000 and Panhandle Community Services in Amarillo received $20,000 – just less than 10 percent of the $360,000 total allocated.

The funds are to be used for home repairs, job training and other services to assist low-income Texans with housing stability. The TSAHC emphasizes assistance to rural areas and Texans with disabilities.

Other notable contributions to charities in the region include the Galilee Community Development Corporation.
