A Beautiful Weekend In Lubbock, But First, Dust
If you plan on spending time outdoors in Lubbock this weekend, possibly doing some yard work, going to a wine festival, or Easter events in our city parks, the weather on both Saturday and Sunday is supposed to be prefect.
But before perfect weather moves into the Hub City, it's going to to be both windy and blowing dust Thursday and Friday. Welcome to Spring in West Texas.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday's high temperatures in and around Lubbock will be in the upper 60's to low 70's with a High Wind Watch in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Winds are expected to be out of the Southwest at 30-40 miles per hour with wind gusts up to 60 mph. Friday will also be a Ref Flag Warning Day meaning that you shouldn't burn anything outdoors. The Red Flag Warning is in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Expect high winds and blowing dust throughout the day on Friday.
The good news? Saturday and Sunday look to be great. High temperatures on Saturday are expected to be in mid-70's in and around Lubbock with plenty of sun. On Sunday, high's could reach the mid-80's.
I don't know about you, but I'll take a dusty Friday for a beautiful weekend.
