1st Ever Schlotzsky’s Food Truck In Lubbock to Serve Outlying Communities

The first-ever Schlotsky's food truck is in Lubbock, with a mission of bringing their yummy soda bread sandwiches, pizzas, Cinnabon treats and other food items to outlying areas and special events in Lubbock.

The food truck is affiliated with the Scholotsky's franchise located at 6804 82nd Street. The truck is very new, having begun serving about a month ago. So new, in fact, that the truck appears a little nondescript so far, but a wrap design is on the way:

So far, the truck has made visits to Levelland, Wolfforth, Post and Shallowater, as well as appearing at events in Lubbock. To keep up with where they're headed next, you can follow the food truck on Facebook.

I think it's wonderfully neat and special anytime Lubbock gets to be the first at something, well, something positive anyway. This food truck is a big positive for outlying areas that don't have as many food options as we do. The agility of a food truck gives these franchise owners the ability to bring their business along with them, and that's really awesome. I think the concept is a useful, and delicious, idea.

Lubbock recently lost a location of Schlotsky's on Indiana Ave., a location that was not owned by the same franchisees as the food truck's owners.
