Candy Moulton, executive director for the Western Writers of America (WWA), joined Lubbock's First News Monday (June 22). The group is holding its annual convention, the first in Texas since 1998, at the National Ranching Heritage Center.

"It's an opportunity to market our work to people but we like to meet the public as well," said Moulton.

WWA has writers and members from throughout the world, including Germany, England and Japan. The writers mainly write about the American West or the West.
