Two Lubbock-Area House Fires Erupt Late Tuesday and Wednesday Morning
A fire in East Lubbock this morning caused authorities to close off an entire neighborhood.
The fire erupted in the backyard of a home in the 4700 block of East 61st Street around 10:15 this morning.
The exterior of the house was scorched but still habitable, and a storage shed was lost to the flames. The resident was treated for minor smoke inhalation, but was otherwise uninjured.
No word yet on what sparked the blaze.

Also, A home burned to the ground following a fire late Tuesday evening.
The house, located near the Brownfield Highway and 114th Street, caught fire around 11:15 p.m. Carlisle and Wolfforth volunteer fire departments extinguished the blaze.
The person living at the home managed to escape unscathed. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
