The Nurse-Family Partnership at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center will host “Bridges out of Poverty, Strategies for Professionals and Communities,” Monday, August 20th from 8:30am to 4pm.
The Aphasia Choir is organized by the Texas Tech Health Science Center’s School of Allied Health Sciences’ Stroke/Aphasia program. Studies have shown that music, melody, and rhythm can help those with aphasia or other language disorders.
Healthy Lubbock and the City of Lubbock have also placed signage along the paved sidewalks at the softball fields, guiding individuals along a ¾-mile walking trail at the fields.
Dr. John Wasnick has been with the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center for two years, and leads the school’s anesthesia residency program while maintaining an active cardiac anesthesia practice.
“STD rates among senior citizens have tripled and seniors are now one of the fastest growing segments of the population contracting STDs, including HIV,” said Linda Brice, Ph.D., R.N.
