According to Texas Comptroller Susan Combs, sales tax revenue for the month of July was $2.34 billion which is up 6.3 percent compared to July 2013. Of the more than $2 billion, $707 million will be distributed to local government units in July. Texas Comptroller Susan Combs said the growth reflected strength in both business and consumer spending.
Texas Comptroller Susan Combs distributed $553 million in sales tax allocations to cities, counties, transit systems, and special purpose taxing districts, which is a 4.1 percent increase compared to March 2013.
