Keep a couple of things in mind. Number one, you have these urban areas that are heavily Democratic, in Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio to some extent. The urban areas are Democratic, but it's the suburban counties that are Republican. Some of the strongest Republican counties in the state are counties like Denton, Colin in Dallas and Montgomery in Houston, and the areas around San Antonio even Williamson county around Austin, those are all very conservative counties.
