Light to occasionally moderate snowfall is expected to develop late this evening across the northern South Plains and southwestern Texas Panhandle.

The NWS says that the main impact of the storm will likely be accumulating ice from freezing drizzle, freezing rain, and sleet. The potential also exists for several inches of snowfall in the northwestern South Plains and southern Texas Panhandle.

The NWS says that moderate to heavy rainfall may occur, and could persist in some areas for several hours or more.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across eastern New Mexico into the western and northern South Plains Monday afternoon and evening.

The storms will be likely capable of producing damaging winds of more than 60 miles per hour and quarter sized hail.

Yet another late spring freeze is possible Tuesday night, with temperatures likely dropping below 28 degrees in some areas.

Travel may become difficult for high profile vehicles traveling on north to south and west to east oriented roads. Patchy blowing dust may also reduce visibility.
