Habitat for Humanity is always giving back to the community but they are currently asking anyone with free time this Monday to come assist in their efforts.

While some may be taking the day off, Lubbock Habitat for Humanity will be working on Martin Luther King Day, and they're asking for your help.

On Monday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Tom was joined by Congressman Randy Neugebauer from Washington, D.C. The representative talked about the Martin Luther King, Jr. day ceremonies and how he celebrates the national holiday.

There are a number events planned in Lubbock beginning Friday organized by the Martin Luther King Commemorative Council of Lubbock to honor the landmark civil rights activist.
