The 2-vehicle crash, involving an SUV and a white truck, occurred at about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of 130th Street and Upland Avenue.
The fire was difficult to contain due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area. A temperature of 106 degrees made it even more difficult for firefighters to work.
On Thursday, August 13th, Lubbock Firefighter Matt Dawson, who was injured while responding to a crash back in January, will return to Lubbock from his rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in Colorado.
