The Lubbock MSA posted a decrease of 1,200 jobs in June, with the highest decrease in the leisure and hospitality sector, followed by the government sector.
“As demonstrated by the informational session held last Thursday in Plainview for the former workers, there is still a great demand for job training and employment assistance for the displaced workers,” said Workforce Solutions South Plains CEO Martin Aguirre.
The grant has been awarded to the Texas Workforce Commission, and will make it possible for eligible dislocated workers to receive reemployment services.
