On Tuesday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Texas Speaker of the House Dennis Bonnen joined the broadcast to talk about the upcoming start of the 87th Texas Legislature, his disagreements with Texas Republican Party Chairman Allen West, the controversy over the likely new speaker Dade Phelan, and much more.

Beginning the interview quickly summarizing the state Republican Party effort and conservative election victories return in Texas, Bonnen said,

It was a very good night for Texas Republicans, the Democrats were shocked...[The GOP effort] was made against the greatest opposition Texas has seen from the Democrats in decades. And we succeeded, because the message worked.

The conversation rapidly turned to the race for the new Speaker of the House in Texas, and the boiling tensions and public back-and-forth statements between himself and state GOP Chairman Allen West.

Bonnen said,

We need to have a fund for Allen West to be bought a one-way bus ticket back to Florida. The problem is that I don't think Florida will take him. Allen West is so off base, and so out of line, and so irresponsible, it is infuriating.

State Republican Party Chairman Allen West will appear on the program at 10:05 A.M., Thursday, November 12, 2020, to share his thoughts on the race for Texas House Speaker.
